Zinc sulfide (ZnS) is a white inorganic compound with wide band gap and good excitation binding energy. Due to its high vapor pressure at low temperature, it should be operated under designated chamber to avoid contamination. It is widely used for pigment, photocatalyst, and semiconductor. It is evaporated under vacuum to create thin film for the manufacturing of optical materials (visible optics and infrared optical) and photovoltaics.
