When cutting glass capillaries, special blades are needed that are made from a material much harder than glass. Normally, a diamond-tipped blade is used here, which has a particularly high level of hardness. Blades made from zirconium oxide are a cheaper and easier alternative. These blades also have a considerably higher degree of hardness and can be resharpened at any time. The blades are particularly well suited to the separation of glass capillaries as the flat cutting point can be precisely drawn over the glass surface. The capillaries are then separated at the broken edge.
This technology even works on the extremely delicate Mark tubes with wall thicknesses of just 0.01 mm. The blades are easily tensioned with our aluminum blade holders and can be used freely with one hand only. Order the practical blade holder to complete the set.
