Functions
Oxaprozin is a clinically useful non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. In addition to typical NSAID COX inhibition, Oxaprozin may also exert anti-inflammatory effects via inhibition of the Akt/IKK/NF-kappaβ pathway. The compound is capable of inhibiting both anandamide hydrolase in neurons (IC50= 85 µmol/l), with consequent potent analgesic activity, and NF-kappaB activation in inflammatory cells (IC50 = 50 µmol/l).
Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO, then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
