Functions
Selective inhibitor of Na+ K+-ATPase isolated from Strophanthus gratus. Endogenous ouabain is found in human circulation. Displays cardiotonic and diuretic activity. May be used to induce hypertensive rat model. Cell permeable and active in vivo.
Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO (up to 50 mg/ml), or in Water (up to 10 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or distilled water may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
