20 mm Cylindrical Quartz Cuvette with Stopper, 5.7 ml, for UV-Vis Spectroscopy

This 20 mm cylindrical quartz cuvette has a round body (diameter 19 mm inside) with flat polished end windows and holds 5.7 ml. Because a round cell can roll, the stopper keeps the solution in even if it does. The MSE PRO cell is made from ES quartz glass.

A 5.7 ml fill is a comfortable working volume for routine UV-Vis absorbance readings.

The PTFE (Teflon) stopper seals the cell against spills and evaporation, which matters for volatile, precious or hazardous solutions.

ES quartz transmits from the deep UV at 190 nm through the visible range to 2,500 nm in the near infrared. That covers UV work such as nucleic acid readings at 260 nm and protein readings at 280 nm, as well as visible and NIR measurements.

The 20 mm path length gives about 2 times the absorbance of a standard 10 mm cell for the same sample, which helps when measuring dilute or weakly absorbing solutions.

The outer body is 22 mm in diameter and 22.5 mm long. Check that your spectrophotometer's cell holder takes cylindrical cells of this size before ordering.

The cell is made by temperature fusion. Other sizes and custom inside widths are available on request.
