Delicate Sample Storage and Handling

MSE Supplies offers a series of carriers and boxes for fragile and delicate samples, which are used by our customers when they need to handle, transport, or process small, valuable devices without risk of damage. Our customers are from a variety of fields including semiconductor, optoelectronic, microwave devices, telecommunication, medical devices, automotive, data storage and jewelries.

Our Products include:

Membrane Boxes: The polystyrene plastic membrane boxes include micro thin and flexible polyurethane membranes top and bottom. They are designed for storage and shipping of delicate materials, such as semiconductors, crystals, wafers, crystal substrates, and optical components.

Sticky gel carrier boxes: Sticky gel carrier boxes are designed to transport, protect and store delicate samples, parts and devices. These high quality sticky gel carrier boxes have a layer of silicone based cross-linked gel in the base of the box. The samples can be secured even if the box is tilted, jarred, or turned upside down. It is widely used for silicon substrate chips, semiconductor devices, MEMS, optoelectronics, optics, single crystal and glass substrates, etc.

Wafer Carriers: High quality cleanroom class single wafer carrier cases are commonly used for the storage, transport and handling of semiconductor wafers, sapphire wafers or other single crystal substrates. These wafer carrier cases are designed and made with polypropylene (PP) material and are available in different sizes with maximum grip, minimum contact and minimum pressure.

Please note consumable products are non refundable or eligible for return. Quality issues or concerns must be reported within 1 week of delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I use a single wafer carrier or a 25-wafer box?

Single wafer carriers, from 1 inch to 12 inch, hold one wafer each and suit samples you store or send separately. 25-wafer carrier boxes hold a full set of 2, 3 or 4 inch wafers for batch processing.

When should I use sticky gel boxes?

Sticky gel boxes hold small, irregular parts such as dies, crystals and optics on a tacky gel surface, so they stay in place without clamps. Sizes run from 30 x 30 mm up to the 148.5 x 148.5 mm box.

Do I need antistatic gel boxes?

Choose antistatic versions for static-sensitive parts, such as semiconductor dies and electronic components. Antistatic sticky gel boxes come in 30 x 30, 55 x 55, 75 x 55 and 85 x 85 mm sizes, 10 per pack.

How should I store lenses and other optics?

Optical pouches protect lenses, windows and mirrors from scratches and dust, and come in packs of 10. For small optics that must not move, a sticky gel box is another option.

How do I order carriers in larger quantities?

Most carriers come in packs of 5 or 10. For larger amounts, or a mix of sizes for a cleanroom or sample transport program, list them on the bulk order request form. For sizes not listed, use the quote request page.
