As soon as the indicator pin is visible above the top edge of the sieve, the waste container has to be exchanged to avoid spillover. The sieve, which can be removed for cleaning, restrains magnetic stirring bars, for example, or other solids while the hinged lid lid prevents harmful vapors from escaping from the canister. Thanks to the inclined cap, the funnel can be positioned horizontally on the canister with inclined fi lling neck.
