AlSi12 alloy is one of the most popular casting Al-Si alloys. Popularity is owing to their low melting point, relative low contraction, low price, good corrosion resistance and high tensile strength with low specific gravity, easy to carry out the casting process. The aforementioned features of this alloy cause to use it in the manufacture of pistons of combustion engines.
