Rhodium (Rh) is a very rare, silvery-white, hard, corrosion-resistant, and chemically inert transition metal. The element's major use is as one of the catalysts in the three-way catalytic converters in automobiles. Other applications of Rhodium include alloy element for high-temperature and corrosion-resistive coatings, asymmetric hydrogenation membrane and optical coatings.
