Molybdenum trioxide (MoO₃) appears as colorless to white or pale yellow solid. It has a composed of layers of distorted MoO₆ octahedra in an orthorhombic crystal. MoO₃ evaporation layer is widely used for batteries, supercapacitors, gas sensors, field effect transistors and catalysis.
